New Kitchen - Day 5 - end of first week

Well - Week one is done. Elmo and Darryl (father/son) carpenters did a great job this week. Elmo says that he will hopefully have the electrical and building inspectors here on Monday to sign off on the work they have done thus far. Once the inspectors give the OK - then its time to close up the walls and get the cabinets installed. Elmo ran a vent for the microwave/hood and tied it into the old vent in the ceiling. He will close up the old hole and finish off the ceiling. All the electrical got switched over on Friday so we had to be out of the house so we didn't fry because it was very hot. They had the power back on by 3PM. It all looks very nice downstairs too - very tidy with the new circuit beakers (not fuses - YAY!). They also moved the washer and installed a new stand pipe for it - looks very good. All in all - I am very satisfied so far and getting excited in seeing what is in store for the upcoming week.
