The soccer game, IHM vs. St. Ambrose, was a massacre. Both teams played very well, but Ambrose played better. Those little kids have a lot of skill and determination. Of course the Ambrose coaches were quite harsh. It seemed to me, the Ambrose kids were expected to be brutal in the way they played the game, and they were. I hope they at least had fun, because that's what it really is all about.
Margaret and Nick played goalie with gusto. Nick especially, was quite the little trooper. Nick took a knock on the head when trying to get the ball and hurt himself. He refused to quit though. Way to go Nick!
Unfortunatly, we lost bad. The final score was 11 to 1. Better luck next time.
After the game, we (Ann, Jannie, Michael, Sean and Myself), headed to the Museum of Transport, where Michael was in Heaven (the boy loves trains). We spent a couple of hours there looking at trains, cars and even a C-47A transport plane from World War 2. It was a fun time.
Afterwards, we had dinner at IHOP. The kids were starting to get a little annoying, due to the long day, but not too bad.
When we finished eating, we drove to the Car Cruise at the Watson Rd. Steak-n-Shake. There were a lot of really cool cars and the boys started off enjoying themselves. One gentleman let me sit in his 1936 Chevy Sedan (very nice), that he found in a pole barn in Milstadt, Illinois. Every few minutes, another classic car would pull onto the lot. All in all, there were probably 35 - 40 cars on the lot. When the owners started to leave, we left for home.
It has been a long day, and I am glad it it finally over.
